About Monodrop

What the platform is, who it serves, and why its approach to product discovery is different.

What is Monodrop?

+

Monodrop is a curated product-discovery platform for independent apps, tools, creator projects, and digital products. It brings each product’s pitch, builder, public progress, and community feedback together so people can understand what is being built and decide what is worth following.

Who is Monodrop for?

+

Monodrop is for independent founders, developers, designers, creators, and curious early users. Builders get a lasting public home for their work, while visitors get a calmer way to find useful products and the people behind them.

What is a Drop?

+

A Drop is a public Monodrop page for an app, software tool, creator project, open-source resource, or digital product. It can include a screenshot, a clear pitch, the problem it solves, its builder, project links, feedback, and build-in-public updates.

How is Monodrop different from a launch directory?

+

Monodrop focuses on sustained discovery rather than a single launch-day spike. Products are presented through their purpose, progress, and builder context instead of being reduced to an upvote count or a short-lived ranking.

Is Monodrop a marketplace or app store?

+

No. Monodrop is a discovery, feedback, and build-in-public platform; it does not sell or deliver the listed products. Visit links open the product’s own website, where its maker controls availability, pricing, support, and terms.

02

Discovery and community

How people explore products, follow builders, and participate without adding another noisy popularity feed.

How does Discover work?

+

Discover presents one reviewed product at a time so each Drop gets focused attention. You can move between Drops, open the detail page for context, bookmark a product, follow its builder, or visit the product’s own website.

Can I browse Monodrop without an account?

+

Yes. Public Drops, builder profiles, and build updates can be viewed without signing in. An account is needed for actions that must be connected to a person, such as submitting, following, bookmarking, posting updates, leaving feedback, or claiming a project.

What is the build-in-public feed?

+

The build-in-public feed is a timeline of product progress shared by builders. Updates can cover launches, milestones, shipped work, metrics, lessons, pivots, work in progress, and requests for feedback, giving visitors reasons to return after launch day.

What is the difference between following and bookmarking?

+

Following connects you to a builder and helps surface their public updates. Bookmarking saves a specific Drop so you can return to that product later; neither action changes a public score or ranking.

How does feedback work?

+

Signed-in users can leave useful feedback on a project or join a discussion around a build update. The goal is actionable context for the builder, not anonymous scoring; content can be reported when it is abusive, misleading, or inappropriate.

03

Submitting and ownership

What builders can publish, how AI assists the process, and how project ownership is established.

How do I submit a Drop?

+

Sign in with Google, open Submit a Drop, and paste the product’s main URL. Monodrop retrieves public page information and a screenshot, prepares an editable draft, and lets you review the project name, pitch, category, roles, and other details before submission.

What does AI do during submission?

+

AI helps turn publicly available page information into a concise first draft for the Drop. The builder remains responsible for reviewing and editing that draft before it is saved; AI does not publish an approved listing on its own.

What kinds of products can be submitted?

+

Monodrop accepts original apps, SaaS and web products, mobile apps, open-source tools, creator projects, developer resources, portfolios, newsletters, templates, e-books, and other digital products. A regular submission must come from a founder, creator, or core team member rather than someone submitting unrelated client work or a third-party product.

What happens after I submit a Drop?

+

A submission can be reviewed for relevance, clarity, originality, safety, and overall fit before it appears in public discovery. A Drop may be approved, rejected with a reason, restricted, or removed when it breaks platform rules or creates risk for users.

Can I edit my Drop after it is published?

+

Yes. The connected owner can update the listing as the product changes and can publish build-in-public notes over time. Keeping the page accurate makes the Drop more useful to visitors, search engines, and answer systems.

What is domain ownership verification?

+

Domain verification confirms that a builder controls the website connected to a Drop. Monodrop provides a verification value to place on the product domain, checks for it, and displays verified ownership when the check succeeds.

What is an unclaimed project, and how can I claim it?

+

An unclaimed project is a public listing that is not yet connected to an owner profile. If you built it, sign in from its project page and send a claim request; Monodrop reviews ownership before transferring control so unrelated users cannot take over the listing.

What is a Founder Member?

+

Founder Member recognizes eligible early builders who verify ownership while the announced places remain available. Current availability is shown inside Monodrop because the number of remaining places can change.

04

Trust, data, and visibility

How Monodrop handles moderation, public visibility, submitted content, personal data, and support.

How does Monodrop maintain quality?

+

Monodrop combines submission review, ownership checks, community reporting, and administrative moderation. It favors clear, original, useful product pages and may limit or remove misleading, unsafe, abusive, duplicated, or irrelevant content.

Does Monodrop rank products by votes or popularity?

+

No public upvote leaderboard determines discovery. Monodrop is designed to give one product focused attention at a time and to make product context, builder progress, and useful feedback more important than launch-day volume.

Can search engines and AI systems discover Monodrop pages?

+

Yes. Approved public product pages, public builder profiles, and public build updates are designed to be indexable. Monodrop also publishes canonical metadata, structured data, a sitemap, an llms.txt file, API documentation, and an AI discovery manifest so eligible public information is easier for search and answer systems to understand.

Who owns content submitted to Monodrop?

+

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant Monodrop a limited license to host, format, display, secure, and distribute it as needed to operate and improve the service; the full conditions are set out in the Terms of Service.

How does Monodrop handle personal data and cookies?

+

Monodrop processes the account, content, activity, technical, contact, and optional notification data needed to provide and protect the service. Essential authentication storage supports signed-in features, while optional analytics loads only after consent; Monodrop does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

How can I contact Monodrop or report a problem?

+

Use the Contact page for product, privacy, ownership, or support questions. Use the report control on a public Drop when the issue concerns that listing, and include enough detail for the problem to be reviewed accurately.
